Good drugstore lipstick!!

I'm not a drugstore makeup person. I'm actually kind of a makeup snob, but when I find something good at the drugstore I will use it. My newest find is the Revlon Colorburst lipstick. WOW!! First of all the packaging is so cute! It's a square matte black tube with a fishnet design on two sides. The color of the lipstick is on the top of the tube. "Revlon" is embossed into the actual lipstick which is really high end looking. These are smooth, creamy and not drying on my lips. There is a lot of color payoff, but they still feel sheer and light. I have four colors right now...baby pink, soft nude, soft rose and fuchsia (pictured). Fuchsia is my favorite color so far. It's a lot brighter in person than in the picture, but you get the idea. It goes really well with my black/brown hair and fair skin. It's not too '80s, but it is a nod to that era...lipstick is a far as I will go on that trend! I will keep my eyes neutral when I wear this color. I do wear a balm underneath, but that's because I'm used to glosses and need that extra slip on my lips. I highly recommend trying these little gems! There are not a lot of color choices, but you're sure to find a color you like. The color true red will be my next purchase. I'm already planning on wearing these during my girls trip next month!

Happy lipstick hunting!!

Hair cut!!

So I got my hair done today...finally! I hadn't had my hair cut or colored since October of last year. My roots were showing...the grey ones. I went darker than I ever have with my color and I love it! It's almost black, but not quite. It's so nice to feel groomed! When I came home I curled my hair with a 1.5 inch curling iron to create big "hollywood" curls. It's the one way I can do something different with my hair. I don't straighten it anymore...too much work and time!

I told my hair stylist that I wanted to look just like Catherine Zeta-Jones, and she told me that I already do! Boy, she earned her big tip today! Don't you love how hair stylist will tell you exactly what you want to hear? Anyway, I did tell her that I wanted Zeta-Jones' color and I think she did it! Now if I could afford the extentions that are needed to really look "hollywoodish".

Till next time...

11 Weeks

Okay, so my husband and I are attending a wedding in California the first weekend in May. It's about 11 weeks away. We are going early to enjoy some fun in the sun before the big event. I am about 35 pounds heavier than I want to be right now...and for this wedding! I'm really good at maintaining my weight, heck, I've maintained my post baby weight for five years now! The only problem is that my post baby weight is 35 pounds heavier than I should be. I have been "trying" to lose (or is it loose??) this weight for years, but I haven't been trying hard enough. I have 11 weeks to lose the weight. I will not go to the wedding feeling like I let myself down!!

I did Weight Watchers when I was in college and lost 20 pounds, so I know that works for me. My plan is to do the WW point system and workout 6 days a week...three days of cardio and three days of weight training. I always start these plans and only last about a week, but not this time! I have decided that one lost day will not turn into one lost week, which has been my track record.

So, starting today, I am on a mission to lose this stupid weight! Not only am I working toward my goal of dropping 30 pounds in 11 weeks, I am also training for a July 4th 10k in Atlanta. My husbands family does this race every year and I'm going to run the whole thing for my 30th birthday! That's my gift to myself. I've already started run/walking on the treadmill at my house! I have a long way to go before I can run a 10 min. mile, but isn't that the point of "training"?

I will keep you all updated on my progress...the weight loss and the running. I have to be honest, I hate all of this! I hate dieting, I hate working out, but I know I will be more than disappointed with myself if I don't change my life today. I'm going to buy the most fab dress for this wedding and it's going to be a size 10!!! I just want to be a perfect 10...again.

My favorite lip treatment

My favorite lip treatment is the Christian Dior Lip Maximizer. It looks like a sheer pink lip gloss, but it's more than that. It is a plumping lip treatment that I use at night and in the morning. The smell is to die for...vanilla mint! It's so yummy!! There is a tingling sensation, but nothing uncomfortable. The packaging is very well done. As you can see in the picture it is in a clear tube with a shiny silver top. It has Dior on one side and Lip Maximizer/Collagen Active written on the other side. The treatment itself is pink with tiny sparkles, but it comes out looking clear on my lips. It's very smooth and not sticky at all.

If I could only have one lip product for the rest of my life (hope it never comes to that!) this is what I would choose. Everything about it, the packaging, the scent, the effect, is perfect for me. Now, if only it wasn't $30 a pop! Oh, well...

Face of the Day

So I'm on a Clinique kick, in case you couldn't tell. I used mostly Clinique products on my face today. My foundation is Even Better in Ivory (their lightest shade...I'm so pale!!!), Estee Lauder double wear concealer, Clinique blended powder, fresh bloom all over color in peony on cheeks. The fresh bloom in peony is an excellent product. It has blush and highlighter combined in one compact. Very smooth and gives a really nice glow.

I did a daytime smokey brown look on my eyes. I started out with Clinique touch tint in Nude Sparkle as a base, used Color Surge eye shadow in Champagne all over my lid, Color Surge in Rum Spice in the crease and Color Surge in Chocolate Chip as liner and outer crease color. I tried a sample of the Lash Doubling mascara by Clinique, which I like so far. I finished it off with a little brow powder to fill in my sparse brows, I used the brow shaper in charcoaled by Clinque. It looks grey in the pan, but works with my black hair.

I used Clinique Long Last Gloss Wear in Goldspun, which is a champagne color gloss. I bought it to go over my High Impact lipstick in In a Nutshell, which is a goldish nude color. Very pretty together!

I know that's a lot of Clinique products, but as I posted earlier, I've started to really like Clinique again. I love doing my makeup everyday! It's kind of like therapy for me...a moment to myself to think.

Have a great day everyone!
