I'm Normal and Happy About It!

Well,

I caved. I bought normal shoes. You know, the typical clog. I searched and searched for a stylish shoe that would look good with jeans and and a long cardigan and just could not find chic shoes that weren't fussy. I'm 5 months pregnant, so I didn't want heels and I can't wear tall boots because of my curvy calves. So I bought some black clogs and some brown clogs, and you know, I like them. They are comfortable and easy to put on. The older I get the more content I'm becoming in being normal. I'm not a movie star, I don't have to always look like I walked out of a magazine. It's okay for me to wear yoga pants and sketchers to the store. How freeing to not care what others think of me! I'm a typical American stay at home mother of three and I LOVE IT!!!!! When I get to heaven I don't want to say, "Oh, this is what life was supposed to be about? I spent way too much time looking for shoes that would make me look like a movie star." I want to live the life that God has for me now and not waist time focusing on what to wear, how I look, and whose looking at me. I'm a mom and a wife. That's my number one priority. I can look smokin hot when I want to, but it won't be everyday!! I'm just done trying to look like I'm "a somebody" when I know I'm just somebody. I'm not special to the world, but I'm "it" to my girls and my husband. That's the audience I care about, and to them I am a beautiful movie star!

Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Ming

Last year Chanel launched a new line of liquid lipsticks called Rouge Allure Laque. I purchased the color Ming(pictured)while in Atlanta. I love it! These "lipsticks" have very good staying power and are also comfortable to wear. They don't dry my lips out or make them peel. I have two colors, Ming and Santa. Santal is a peachy pink color that is very natural and Ming is a blue pink.

I highly recommend these wonderful little lipstick/glosses. They'll look really beautiful on your vanity as well!!

Just a pretty picture!!!

I love this!! There is nothing better than a Tiffany box and Chanel lipstick on the same vanity. Pretty things make me so happy!

Chanel Rouge Coco Lipstick Review

Okay, so when I heard that Chanel was coming out with a new lipstick I was torn. The new lipsticks are going to replace the hydrabase formulas and I loved the old formula! Well, I decided to try them out and was so glad I did! They are wonderful. They seem thinner than the hydrabase lipsticks, but they stay on my lips just as long. Really a perfect combo of light and long wearing. The packaging looks the same, but the rouge coco lipsticks are packaged in metal instead of plastic. This makes them cold to the touch. The same iconic double c's are in white on the top of the lid and also inside the lid, which is very luxe. There is a wide gold band going around the middle of the tube. Very chic!

I have three colors, but plan to get more. The first one I bought is Mademoiselle, which is a very natural rosy shade. The one in the picture is Perle, which is a light plummy pink. I think it will become my favorite. The last one I have is La Pausa, which is a coral with a little more orange than pink. I like it for spring and summer. I will be getting Cashmere next, which is a natural nude color. It will be good for my "no makeup" days.

Over all I highly recommend these new lipsticks from Chanel. There's just something about pulling out a Chanel lipstick and putting it on that makes me feel like all is right with the world!

I Haven't Fallen off the Face of the Earth!

Hey! Wow, it's been over a month since my last post...it feels like minutes! The days are going soooo fast right now. I just got back from my girls trip to Atlanta. We had a wonderful time and I was very happy with my outfit choices. I wore different versions of the same outfit every day. Different cardigans and scarves paired with a white tank and jeans makes for easy traveling. It felt like I was packing light, but in reality I had four bags for a weekend trip...I'm just not a light packer! We hit the outlet mall in Dawsonville and had some great finds. I bought a gold leather Kate Spade bag for $100 that had been $355...so happy!! I am loving Kate Spade right now. I've loved her stuff for about 10 years, but am just getting around to owning some of her bags. They seem like really good quality and with the outlet prices they are somewhat affordable.

We decided to go to a tea room in Alpharetta that my mother-in-law told me about. She knew the owner and highly recommended their chicken salad. We were running late so we called to make sure they closed at 4:00 and not earlier. It was about 3:40 when we called. The owner answered the phone and told us that the tea room actually closed at 3:00, but that she would serve us anyway. How sweet was that! When we arrived we were taken to our private table which was already set with our chicken salad croissants and pasta salad. I was such a welcome sight because we were all starving! The waiter brought a pot of tea for us to share and it was hot and delicious. So if you're ever in Alpharetta, GA and you're in the mood for the best chicken salad ever then make your way to Mittie's Tea Room.

We had a suite at the St. Regis, which I am claiming as my second home, ate at the most delicious places and experienced Scott's Antique Market. When I came home I found out that both my girls were sick and spent the next two days dealing with doctor visits and breathing treatments. Oh how fast reality can hit!! I already feel like I need another vacation!

I will post some makeup reviews as soon as I can. I got some fun Chanel makeup in Atlanta that I can't wait to write about!

Till next time...

Good drugstore lipstick!!

I'm not a drugstore makeup person. I'm actually kind of a makeup snob, but when I find something good at the drugstore I will use it. My newest find is the Revlon Colorburst lipstick. WOW!! First of all the packaging is so cute! It's a square matte black tube with a fishnet design on two sides. The color of the lipstick is on the top of the tube. "Revlon" is embossed into the actual lipstick which is really high end looking. These are smooth, creamy and not drying on my lips. There is a lot of color payoff, but they still feel sheer and light. I have four colors right now...baby pink, soft nude, soft rose and fuchsia (pictured). Fuchsia is my favorite color so far. It's a lot brighter in person than in the picture, but you get the idea. It goes really well with my black/brown hair and fair skin. It's not too '80s, but it is a nod to that era...lipstick is a far as I will go on that trend! I will keep my eyes neutral when I wear this color. I do wear a balm underneath, but that's because I'm used to glosses and need that extra slip on my lips. I highly recommend trying these little gems! There are not a lot of color choices, but you're sure to find a color you like. The color true red will be my next purchase. I'm already planning on wearing these during my girls trip next month!

Happy lipstick hunting!!

Hair cut!!

So I got my hair done today...finally! I hadn't had my hair cut or colored since October of last year. My roots were showing...the grey ones. I went darker than I ever have with my color and I love it! It's almost black, but not quite. It's so nice to feel groomed! When I came home I curled my hair with a 1.5 inch curling iron to create big "hollywood" curls. It's the one way I can do something different with my hair. I don't straighten it anymore...too much work and time!

I told my hair stylist that I wanted to look just like Catherine Zeta-Jones, and she told me that I already do! Boy, she earned her big tip today! Don't you love how hair stylist will tell you exactly what you want to hear? Anyway, I did tell her that I wanted Zeta-Jones' color and I think she did it! Now if I could afford the extentions that are needed to really look "hollywoodish".

Till next time...
